The Image Management Core provides software and services for the storage, management and sharing of microscope images and metadata.
The Harvard Medical School Image Management Core is a new service of RITS to help researchers manage image data and metadata. The IMC was created in response to the growing complexity and difficulty of managing research image data. The first major offering of the IMC will be a shared installation of the OMERO image management platform. The HMS IT department will install and maintain an OMERO server for use by on-quad HMS researchers. Initial funding for this comes from the Tools and Technology Committee, HMS IT, and the Harvard Program in Therapeutic Science (HiTS).
OMERO is client-server software for visualization, management and analysis of biological microscope images. From the microscope to publication, OMERO handles all your images in a secure central repository. You can view, organize, analyze and share your data from anywhere you have internet access. Work with your images from a desktop app (Windows, Mac or Linux), from the web or from 3rd party software. Over 140 image file formats supported using the Bio-Formats library, including all major microscope formats.
