CVVR Flow Cytometry Core (BIDMC)

Summary:

Cytometry and cell sorting core at the Center for Virology and Vaccine Research. The facility has a BD FACSAria II housed in a sterile biosafety cabinet in a BSL2+ facility, allowing sorting of unfixed, live cells into a variety of tubes and plates. Equipment, consultation, dedicated operator, and data analysis available to outside researchers.

  • BD FACS Aria II (BSL2 Hood) ( Flow cytometer sorter )

    "BD FACS Aria II cell sorter equipped with 4 solid state lasers: 100mW 405nm violet measuring up to 8 parameters, 50mW 488nm blue measuring up to 2 parameters in addition to FSC and SSC, 150mW 532 green measuring up to 5 parameters, and a 200mW 628nm red measuring up to 3 parameters, allowing sorting panels of up to 18 fluorescent markers. This instrument is housed in a biosafety cabinet in a BSL2+ laboratory, allowing for sterile sorting of live cells into a variety of tubes and plates."

  • BD LSR II (2) ( Flow cytometer analyzer )

    "Two BD LSR II analyzers, each equipped with 3 solid state lasers: 100mW 404nm violet measuring up to 8 parameters, 100mW 488nm blue measuring up to 5 parameters in addition to FSC and SSC, and a 40mW 639nm red measuring up to 3 parameters, allowing panels of up to 16 fluorescent markers."
