Summary:

"Committed to meet all of the flow cytometry needs for the BIDMC and the external research community, the Flow Cytometry Core facility offers state of the art instrumentation for routine flow cytometry and cell sorting. It is continuously expanding with the newest software and machinery for both sort and analysis capabilities of up to 30 flourescent parameters. The Flow Cytometry Core facility is available to: answer technical questions; assist you in setting up flow cytometry experiments; assist you with acquiring, analyzing and interpreting your data; assist in data presentation and data storage; provide training on the four benchtop analyzers and on software."

  • BD Biosciences LSR II ( Flow cytometer )

    The Becton Dickinson LSR II is a five laser (blue/red/violet/uv/yellow-green), 18 parameter system. This allows for different color combinations then the previous LSR II. This LSR II also runs off the Windows XP and uses Diva software. Custom made to core specifications: SORP (Special Order Product).

  • Beckman Coulter FC 500 flow cytometer ( Flow cytometer analyzer )

    "This is a dual laser, benchtop analyzer equipped with an air-cooled, 488nm laser and a JDS Uniphase 35mW 635nm laser. In addition to forward and side scatter parameters, the configuration of the dichroics allows for five fluorescent parameters off the 488nm laser or the combination of the 488nm and 635nm lasers (three fluorescent parameters from the 488nm laser and two parameters from the 635nm laser). Software for acquisition and analysis is the Beckman Coulter CXP, running on an Intel Pentium 4 processor."

  • Beckman Coulter Gallios flow cytometer ( Flow cytometer )

    "The Beckman Coulter Gallios is designed for greater resolution and higher flexibility. The three laser (288nm, 638nm, and 405nm), ten parameter system allows for numerous experimental possibilities. The Gallios is equipped with a 22mW Argon 488nm laser, 25mW 638 laser, and a 40mW 405nm laser. The Gallios runs off of windows and uses Gallios CXP 9.1 software."

    "This is a single laser, benchtop analyzer equipped with an air-cooled, argon laser (488nm), capable of detecting up to three fluorescent signals (FL1, FL2 and FL3), two physical signals (FSC and SSC) and two electronic signals (Area and Width)."

  • Cyntellect Celigo adherent cell cytometer ( Flow cytometer )

    "Leveraging the advantages of in situ analysis, the Celigo adherent cell cytometer analyzes adherent cells with the same precision and accuracy as non-adherent cell types. With Celigo, scientists can obtain high quality data from every cell in every well of a 384-well microplate in just 10 minutes. The system is designed to maximize utility with an array of capabilities:
    * Operates with T-flasks and a variety of multiwell plates
    * Provides data for adherent and non-adherent cell types

  • Miltenyi AutoMACS Magnetic Separator ( Cell separator )

    "A self-run bench-top instrument for high-speed automated cell separation." Designed for positive selection or negative depletion of magnetically labeled cells.

  • MoFlo Astrios cell sorter ( Flow cytometer sorter )

    The Beckman Coulter MoFlo Astrios is a six laser (405nm, 488nm, 561nm, 592nm, 640nm, and UV) system capable of acquiring 32 parameters simultaneously. This high-speed cell sorter can sort 6 ways at speeds up to 70,000 cells/second and analyze samples at a speed of 100,000 cells/second. Sorting can be done into tubes and plates of various sizes, and custom slides.

  • Stratedigm, Inc. S1000 flow cytometry platform ( Flow cytometer analyzer )

    Stratedigm system specifications include: 4 lasers, 405nm (50mW), 488nm (40 mW), 532nm (50mW), 640nm (40mW). This machine has interchangeable optical filters. Software is CellCap Ture, platform is a- PC. The analyzer has SSC resolution of <.5um which is great for analyzing micro particles and platelets, and standard flow cytometry analysis.
